Dr. Kobetsky is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, Faculty of Law and a consultant with Greenwoods and Freehills (a specialist tax practice and Australia’s biggest advisory firm practicing exclusively in revenue laws).
Dr. Kobetsky has an extensive work experience in the field of taxation. He has 10 years experience with the Australian Taxation Office (July 1987 – July 1997) working in their policy and legislation group designing tax law and policies.
He has worked for the Parliamentary Library of the Australian Parliament (February 1999 – February 2001) providing advice to Parliamentary members and senators on taxation bills being debated in the Parliament.
Dr. Kobetsky has published extensively on taxation in journals in Australia, Canada and Europe. He is the principal author of one of Australian leading taxation texts which is now in its fifth edition. He has presented seminars and conference papers in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and China. Particularly, he has worked as an OECD expert since June 2004.
